MBD Owner, Choreographer, Dance and Yoga Instructor and Dance and Yoga Retreat organiser, founder of Bodyballet. Lisa has over 20 years experience in the dance industry as both a professional performer and teacher/choreographer.
Predominantly trained in classical ballet, she is versatile dancer having trained and worked with companies and dance schools around the world covering a variety of styles including Ballet, Jazz, Flamenco, Musical Theatre, Street, Latin, Contemporary, Tap and Pas De Deux.
Lisa has worked as a dancer, soloist, choreographer and producer in over 30 countries in Europe, America, South America, Asia and Africa in a variety of prestigious productions in theatres and commercially.
She was trained at the Urdang Dance Academy, London and the Northern Ballet School, Manchester, where she gained a National Diploma in Professional Dance and Choreography and RAD and ISTD classical ballet and modern theatre major examinations up to Advanced as well as teaching qualifications in a variety of dance styles, fitness and yoga.
Lisa has been teaching both syllabus and free dance and fitness classes to all levels and age groups, from all walks of life, at many dance and academic schools, leisure centres and private organisations for over a decade.
Stephanie teaches some of the MBD Adult Commercial and Bodyballet classes as well as Pre-School, Junior and Senior Dance classes. She is a qualified Jazz, Street Dance and Barre instructor having had trained at the prestigious Bodywork Studios in London and has a Trinity qualification in musical theatre, as well as a National Dance Diploma and IDTA Street Dance. Stephanie has years of industry experience including professional performances at London Palladium, Plymouth Theatre Royal, Barcelona World Championships and she is a UDO Street Dance Competitor. She was also in girl band ‘Vanity Girls’ who have preformed as support for Ndubz and Mcfly and has experience in films as an extra and in TV adverts.
Miranda teaches MBD’s Adult Contemporary classes and Pre School and Junior Street Dance.
She has a BA Honours degree in Choreography from Falmouth University
She loves all dance styles but has a passion for contemporary dance due to the the freedom to be creative. Miranda has performed with various dance and theatre companies including Cscape, SpinDrift and Rogue Theatre. Miranda says: “I want dancing to be accessible for everyone, even people who think they can’t dance! I really enjoy teaching and sharing the benefits of dance with all ages and abilities.”
Abi teaches MBD Street Dance Classes for Kids.
Abi studied contemporary dance before going on to train with Bam Bam Boogies in street dance, commercial and hip hop, taking part in competitions in the East of England. She furthered her training in street dance, musical theatre and contemporary dance in NGM Bristol where she joined Release dance crew and also performed with the cast of Broadway Live. While in Bristol she taught street dance and musical theatre for the NGM internship and for Bristol Academy of Live Performing Arts for three years.
Kelly is every toddlers favourite teacher – With over 10 years experience working with children, and qualifications in FDA Early Years Childhood Education, NVQ 3 in Childrens’ Care, Learning and Development and Behaviour Management, she brings a sense of fun and imagination into the toddler sessions where they dance and play. “When engaging young children in movement and dance, I find the use of roleplay essential, when children are pretending whilst having fun they are fully engaged in learning without even realising. Every week we work with imagination, coordination, spatial awareness, listening, balancing and most of all having fun.”
Bridget is The MBD Admin and Events Coordinator. She is currently completing a degree in Event Management at The Eden Project (accredited with Plymouth University) and has had lots of experience with wellbeing events and retreats around the UK. She is currently undergoing her 200-Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training (accredited with Yoga Alliance) which is a huge passion of hers. Bridget has studied English Literature and loves to write. She also loves nutrition, Ayurveda and is qualified in Indian Head Massage. Bridget says “I love events that encourage community and allow people to share their knowledge and passions with others. Dance invites people to be creative, express themselves and have FUN!”.
