KIDS DANCE CLASSES

    Class Descriptions

PRESCHOOL DANCE ages 2-4 years
A generic dance class (where mum/dad or guardian stay and join in) for your little ones to learn the basic principles of dance in a fun and expressive way. The class is structured (most is teacher-lead and some will be free and explorative). This class will be imperative for developing coordination, strength, flexibility and rhythm. Younger children may need more guidance from parents to help follow the structure of the class in the beginning. We will use techniques from Ballet, Jazz and Street Dance so your toddlers will be well prepared to join any dance class at 4 years.

What to wear?

We don’t have a set uniform as we want classes to be accessible for everyone.
Street and Jazz dance Students should come to class in clothing they can move around in easily, trainers or dance sneakers are ideal and long hair must be tied back.

Ballet: Eventually Children should wear a leotard (or tutu/ballet skirt for ages 4 – 7years) and tights or bare legs and leather, satin or canvas ballet shoes. Hair must be tied back and off the face. For the first few ballet classes students may dance in bare feet and wear fitted leggings and a vest. please note that the for ballet class the uniform is particularly important so technical corrections can be made.

We can recommend buying from Dance Direct or Move Dance  as all brands are reputable
