MINDBODYRETREAT

YOGA . DANCE . NATURE

For women who want to come back to themselves with the help of movement, restoration and the elements.

I’m so delighted to say we will be offering our Mindbodyretreats again! The last one I facilitated was in 2018 (I was very pregnant!) and having a little person, a pandemic and opening a dance & yoga studio has meant the timing hasn’t been right to run another one (despite many requests) until now! And it’s going to be a little bit magical.

January 2025… Set in the most stunning of locations, the very sacred  St Nectan’s Glen  in North Cornwall, this mindbodyretreat will be nothing short of a beautiful, earthy and inspiring experience for some wonderful women who crave a little reset to start the calendar year. Hosted by Lisa Stephens & Jo Neale, this retreat is perfect for women who like connection…

Connect to a sense of self – what do you really feel and need?
Connect to nature – get grounded and immersed in the lush and wild setting.
Connect mind and body – through movement and awareness
Connect to a community of like-minded women on this retreat
Connect to the feminine – through music and dance
Connect to something greater, something magical – your soul? Spirit? The Universe?

Dance & yoga?
I have taught dance and yoga for over two decades and they compliment each other beautifully.  You don’t have to be a dancer or yogi to attend – just a desire to move and explore. We will offer a range of bespoke yoga, meditation and dance teachings suitable for all minds and bodies.

There will be approximately six hours worth of classes spread out over the whole retreat and these will consist of:

Hatha Yoga
Contemporary dance
Bodyballet (A blend of Barre, Pilates and Yoga focusing on posture and alignment)
Chakra Dance, yoga & meditation
Restorative Yin Yoga
Commercial Dance – to uplift the soul and have fun!

Classes will be designed and taught by Lisa Stephens.  We will flow, sweat, rest, release, strengthen, lengthen, laugh, breathe and shine. We will focus on the connection between mind, body and soul, physical alignment and core strength (with great tips to take away to maintain) the energetic body, releasing tension & blockages and honouring our bodies and having fun while moving them to music. Collectively this will be healing, nurturing and liberating on all levels!

We will have exclusive use of the woodland and waterfalls (and will definitely immerse in the cold water  for those who want to) outside of opening times in the morning and from late afternoon. There will be time for exploring the woodland walks, wildlife, river and many sacred spaces that St Nectan’s Glenn offers (please explore their offerings here). Expect log burners and a gathering around an outdoor fire. There is a lovely cafe for sitting, reading, contemplating  and just enjoying great coffee.  We will enjoy three soulful, nourishing meals a day served in the retreat accommodation. Lastly there will be optional Ayurvedic and holistic therapies with Calma Treatments available to book.

This retreat has been designed for women to turn up as they are and feel welcomed, nurtured and held while on their weekend journey which will renew you physically, mentally and energetically so that you can leave feeling inspired to be the most authentic version of you!
